The following year, the band toured again with an even 'freakier' Dean stage set. This was the Solo's tour and it took the visual art of stage and lighting syncronized with the music to an absolute stunning peak! It's still one of the coolest things I've EVER seen Live! I only wish that it had been filmed! If anyone has some more pictures of the '76 tour - I would love to see them!!! It was the greatest show on Earth!
Absolutely Amazing!
This is an actual 8x10 the YES people sent me (originally b/w w/o logos -photoshop playtime again) It was part of a press kit that had bios (still looking for them) and a letter from their personal secretary Jill stating that they didn't have a fan club but if I wanted to write the group I could at the enclosed address. After writing the band several months earlier c/o Atlantic, It was a trip to get this kit from England . A place I always dreamed of living ( I prefer the states now) I promptly started a correspondence with the band and their people. That really made me feel close to the music and the group. I wish I knew how many people I turned on to YES back then in school who thought Kiss were great musicians! It was always great to freak em out! (Sound Chaser usually worked quite well or excerpts from Yessongs) I was a 12 year old YES promo machine!
This hand written letter was truly a blow away for me. Steve was so very cool for taking the time to respond this way. I only wish I had some of the letters that I had sent to them to see what kind of crazy kid things I may have said. Looking back , this communication with the band really inspired me to become a progressive musician. So I could inspire others as I too was feeling inspired. Give a little back of what you take. |
