Reserve your tickets today! StringStation LIVE in Seattle - Saturday Eve, June 13th, 2009 | West Seattle -In SURROUND SOUND Total Immersion Concert II is much more than just a performance; it’s a journey into a world of downtempo electronic music by amazing artists who will be performing original music in surround-sound, to multi-screen visuals in a rare and unique artistic setting. "Rare" is the operative word here… Live music that's performed in surround is something that’s uncommon, even in major centers around the world. It’s often regarded as too difficult to pull off. EMC, however, has mastered the art and goes further to combine melodic downtempo compositions with lush and immersive visuals. The Where's & When's: Youngstown Cultural Arts Center, 4408 Delridge Way SW, West Seattle Saturday, June 13, 7-10 (with intermission)

WHAT : The Stringstation is a custom 40-string music instrument designed for advancing future music in Surround Sound. WHO : Developed by former Passport / Audion recording artist Jim Bartz. Bartz was signed as a guitarist pre-StringStation by Larry Fast of Peter Gabriels band while he was an engineer/producer at one of the midwests premier recording facilities. WHY : A discovery in the recording studio led to the invention of this stringed instrument that could be split into multiple separate outputs, allowing the overlap of many different sound colors from one source with the ability to play bass, rhythm and melody at the same time with just two hands. WHERE : Somewhere in Seattle. HOW : The StringStation utilizes every playing technique known to stringed instruments and many new ones that have evolved from the combination of 3 customized 8-string steel guitars, one 6-string, a 10-string Chapman Stick and pure imagination.
